Our current study: The Acts of the Apostles
The Acts of the Apostles comes right after the Gospel’s accounts of Jesus and tells what his followers did for the next 30 years or so after Jesus returned to Heaven. Those same Apostles who were at times selfish, fearful, faithless and competitive became the heralds of an ever-growing church marked by the power of God exercised through ordinary sinful people. The Apostle Paul heard the Lord say “my power is perfected in weakness (2nd Corinthians 12:9).” In the midst of their own weakness, Peter and Paul become mighty leaders of the Church’s mission because the power of God, the Holy Spirit, was with them. Spend a few weeks reading what happened after the resurrection. You will be encouraged and you will learn how God uses ordinary folks like us to do extraordinary things.
