Dear Friends,

OUR FIRST SUNDAY IN OUR NEW HOME – JULY 3RD!

This Coming Sunday, we’ll be in our brand new home at 1000 Upland Street, just one block east of Midkiff at the corner of Cuthbert and Upland.  Thanks to all who made a great effort to move us from the Genesis Center.  A great deal was accomplished in a few hours by many busy folks.  It was beautiful to see things taking shape so thoughtfully.

There are still a few things to take care of before Sunday.  Here’s the list:

Mow the Lawn

Pick up Garbage

Trim the Shrubs

Set up the Children’s Classroom Currently Being Used for Storage

Make Sure the Kitchen is Ready for After Service Refreshments

I think we can get this done in about an hour if 10 or so of us could meet on Saturday at 9:00am.  Please respond back to this email to let me know you can help out.

CHURCH CLEANING TEAMS TO BE ORGANIZED THIS SUNDAY

At our June Vestry Meeting, we decided to organize 5 teams to keep the church clean and care for the yard week by week.  The following Vestry members will be leading teams that will each serve once every 5 weeks:  John Brenner, Tola Dina, Bob Landreth, Doug Whiting and Katanna Zachry.  We would like to have 5 or 6 members to each team (teenagers and children included!).  Teams will serve 30 to 60 minutes sometime before Sunday morning during their week and then straighten things up after service on Sunday.  I will be serving in one  of the teams as will Greg Clark and Dan Stoelzel, our wardens.

THE BISHOP IS COMING ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 6TH TO DEDICATE OUR NEW BUILDING

Bishop Mark Zimmerman will return on Wednesday, July 6th at 7:00pm to worship with us and to dedicate our new building.  We’ll pray for God’s blessing on our new home and give thanks to God.  This would be a great evening to invite your friends.  I have already heard of a hearty group who will be coming from San Angelo to be part of the celebration.

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: Psalm 126:1-3

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,

we were like those who dream.

Then our mouth was filled with laughter,

and our tongue with shouts of joy.

Then they said among the nations,

“The Lord has done great things for them.

The Lord has done great things for us;

      we are glad.

As always, if you are in need of pastoral care, please do feel free to call me at 432-853-2751.

 Your fellow servant,

  Fr. Tom
