Dear Friends,

HOW ARE YOU DOING WITH LENT?

Now that we are at about the halfway point, how are you doing with Lent?  This great season of prayer, fasting and repentance is a call to consider your relationship with God and how you might live more faithfully.  If you are like many of us, you might conclude that you are nowhere with Lent.  You might have come to the Ash Wednesday service or made some resolution to drop a bad habit or take on a new discipline but now find that this is already in the past tense.

What to do?  Try again next year, maybe?  How about allowing yourself to admit that you’re stuck and decide today to start again?  Change always begins with a decision and such decisions are not bound to any calendar.  Pray, study, come to the Lenten Series or just get up 15 minutes earlier to read from a devotional.  The key is to make yourself available to God so that he can continue his wonderful work in your life. He might speak a word of hope or correction at just the right time!

SECOND SUNDAY LUNCH (MOVED TO THE THIRD SUNDAY) AND JUBILEE COLLECTION

Bring side dishes and desserts this Sunday for our monthly luncheon.  Please also remember the Jubilee Center with boxed macaroni and cheese or any other non-perishable food item you would like to give.

LENTEN SERIES CONTINUES ON WEDNESDAYS AT 6:30 PM

Don’t Let God’s Call Go to Voicemail!

A Wacky Team Event for People Ready to Hear from God

March 22: A strong 7, maybe even an 8, but he coulda’ been a 10! (The flawed legacy of King David).

March 29: What? Ya couldn’t have called a little sooner? (The late vocations of Moses, Anna and Simeon).

April 5: Hey you! Yeah, you! (Hearing God’s callings on your own life.)

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: God Shows His Love For Us

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.  For one will scarcely die for a righteous person–though perhaps for a good person one would date even to die–but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.  Romans 5:6-8

As always, if you are in need of pastoral care, please do feel free to call me at 432-853-2751.

Your fellow servant,

Fr. Tom
