Dear Friends,

COUNTDOWN TO THIS SUNDAY’S OPEN HOUSE!

INVITING: There is still time to invite friends, family and neighbors to the open house. If you don’t have a copy of the flyer, I can email you one.  You can also join a neighborhood visits tonight from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm or on Saturday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.  Meet at the church.

ATTENDING: It would be a great encouragement if you could be part of the adult class beginning at 9:15 am.  We will be introducing All Saints (our history, worship and beliefs) to some of our visitors.  Your presence would make a positive difference.

COOKING: Lunch is covered except for the desserts. Bring something!

PARKING: If your family can come at 9:15 in one car, that would help.  We expect to have quite a few more cars in the lot than usual.  Consider parking on the lawn on the alley side of the church.  If you have a pickup or SUV, park in the vacant lot across Upland Avenue.

SEATING: I know this is a big request, but would you consider sitting in the front rows to leave more open seating in the back?  It is hard for a visitor to come in at 10:30 only to find that they need to walk way up front to find a seat.

PRAYING: God has a plan for each of us attending on Sunday.  Whether you are a first time visitor or a founding member, pray that we will all be open to what God has for us on this very special day.

St. PAUL’S IS HAVING AN OPEN HOUSE TOO!

Our friends at St. Paul’s are having their open house on Thursday evening, September 29th beginning at 6:00 pm with a reception in the foyer.  At 7:00pm, there will be an Evening Prayer service with a teaching series called Five Gifts from the Father: The Meaning of the Lord’s Prayer.  I offered this at All Saints during Lent in 2013 and many found it helpful.  If you would like to help with St. Paul’s neighborhood invitations, or with the open house itself, please do let me know.

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK:  Remember the value of one!

[Jesus said:] “What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? 13 If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. 14 So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.”  Matthew 18:12-14

As always, if you are in need of pastoral care, please do feel free to call me at 432-853-2751.

Your fellow servant,

Fr. Tom
